Fallout New Vegas Real Life Locations Gta 5
I never really thought much about the actual locals of New Vegas until the other day when my wife was watching 'Ghost Adventures' on TV. They were in the real life Goodsprings investivating the Prospector Saloon. The Saloon is supposedly haunted by ghosts from a plane crash that happened many years back and they used the saloon as a staging area for the rescue attempt. Las Vegas does have a small monorail system, but the portion of the monorail connecting the Strip to McCarran is only in the planning phase. This list is incomplete. Anyone can edit it to add or correct stuff. To look for entries to add, go through the list of F:NV locations at the Fallout wiki. There should be a note if it's a real world location.

I was going to post this to the other thread, but it looks like most users are just noting the similar topography. I put this together in Google Earth a while ago, and I'd thought I'd share it here.
There are quite a few real world locations. However, Novac does not exist at in it's in-game location; it's most likely Baker, California. The Dinasuar is also not in Baker, but is a replica of the of Claude Bell's Dinosaurs located in Cabazon, CA. I'd also like the mention that Nevada Solar One (Helios One), is a replica of the near Daggett, CA.
The new solar arrays going in near Primm use the same concept of super heated molten salt to drive a steam turbine. Some of the sites are also real, like the Volcano being the Legion's camp, and there are some areas east of Boulder City that look like the right topography for Camp Forlorn Hope.Cottonwood Cove exists in real life, I just forgot to put it on the map. There are several places called Big Mountain. The simple fact that there is no confirmed real life counterpart also allows for basically any mountain, because it's name simply could have changed. The mountain is never actually referred to as Big Mountain. The research facility built into it is called the Big Mountain Research Facility. This can easily be a codename for the facility, as it is a research facility built into a big mountain.I've read speculation that it could be a number of different specific mountains. The point is that they are all speculation, and none of them are correct as of yet, because no canon real life counterpart has been named. Also, Black Mesa doesn't really fit the shape of Big Mountain, which is supposed to be a relatively circular mountain. The Long 15 is Interstate 15, but that's not where Lonesome Road is set.

The Long 15 is the highway between NCR territory and the Mojave. It's the supply line where all of the NCR is funneling its soldiers and equipment/supplies through. The reason it is brought up in Lonesome Road is because that's what Ulysses wants to nuke.
He believes that if he can cut off this supply line, then the NCR will suffer. The Divide is not on the Long 15. It's not even in the same direction from the Mojave. It also has not been given a confirmed real life counterpart, but a common speculation is that it is somewhere in Death Valley.
Hi all - I'm just back from two weeks in Nevada and California, where I filled a few days photographing a few real-world locations that appear in FNV. As you'll see, some are very similar to real life. And some riff on the real world in ways you don't realise until you get there! ('King's' indeed.)I hope it'll provide you with a few laughs - I had fun doing it. So far 16 locations are up; I'll be adding another 15 or so plus plenty of video in the next few days. The blog's at:url: and improvement suggestions of course welcome. Best,ChrisPosts: 3561 Joined: Sun Aug 13, 2006 10:24 pm.
