Sep 03, 2014 For those looking at getting into a bump fire stock, and not looking to spend the $260+ to get a Slide Fire stock there is a alternative that is now available for $99. From Bump Fire Systems the stock is polymer and as the same features that you see in most stocks now with an “on/off” selector that locks into the buffer tube and trigger.
Knocked the ball out of the park when it introduced the M&P Shield pistol in 2012. In less than three years, S&W announced that it had already produced more than 1 million of the pistols. That was two years ago.

It’s anybody’s guess as to how many of the subcompact pistols have been produced now, but with the rebate program and the addition of the M&P45 Shield, the number has to be staggering. So just what makes the Shield so popular among concealed-carry users?Let’s start with its dimensions. The grip frame is slightly less than an inch wide while the slide is just 0.93 inches thick. The gun is 4.4 inches tall, and with an overall length of just slightly more than 6 inches, the Shield is a gun that can be concealed without much effort.
It weighs just more than 20 ounces with an unloaded magazine. That makes the polymer-framed gun comfortable for all-day carry.Other things like its stainless steel barrel and slide, which are blackened with S&W’s Armornite finish, make the gun extremely corrosion resistant, and the low-profile three-dot sights and crisp, manageable trigger provide users with all the desirable features needed in a gun. And, of course, the M&P Shield isn’t a gun that will require a second mortgage to obtain. In fact, it would be hard to find a gun that provides more value for the money.
S&W found the formula for success, and it would be hard to improve on perfection. But the company has done just that. Shield SequelS&W has just introduced the M&P Shield M2.0, and fortunately, it retains all of the features that made the original gun such a success and adds a few more. The M2.0 lineup also includes a new Shield that possesses an integral laser, not unlike the S&W Bodyguard 380. Designated the M&P Shield M2.0 CT, the new addition is destined to become a favorite among the concealed-carry crowd. The new Shields have finer texturing on the front- and backstraps as well as the grip side panels.
It is similar to what we see custom builders doing to polymer-framed guns. The texturing is like a fine emery cloth, and it should provide the shooter with a secure grip even with wet hands without being coarse enough to catch on layering garments. S&W even textures the eight-round magazine’s collar, which sits just above the basepad, to provide a consistent appearance.Smith & Wesson has also machined forward cocking serrations into the front of the slide for those who like to press-check their pistols, and the “M2.0” legend is stamped onto the left rear side of the slide flat.
Engineers at S&W have also improved on the striker’s geometry. My personal S&W Shield, which I purchased over a year ago, has a very manageable trigger pull that breaks at about 6.75 pounds. But my two new M2.0 variants both have trigger pulls that break at a very crisp 5.25 pounds. So what hasn’t changed? In fact, magazines can be interchanged between both generations, and the slide’s sight dovetails are exactly the same so tritium sights developed for the original Shield will work with the M2.0. Holsters designed for the first-generation Shields will also work with the M2.0 pistols, except for the Shield with the integrated laser, of course. A Smith & Wesson executive informed me that dummy guns went out to holster manufacturers the last week of August, so hopefully there will be several holster options available by the time you get your hands on a Shield M2.0 CT. Dropped everything to get me a sample of the SnapSlide OWB holster for the laser-equipped gun.Last year, Smith & Wesson bought Crimson Trace, and it makes a world of sense to integrate a laser into the grip frame.
The result is a gun that is not demonstrably heavier or really even bulkier than the non-laser model yet offers all of the benefits of a defensive gun with a laser-aiming device. The Shield M2.0 CT’s frame has bilateral red activation buttons. Pushing a button once will turn on the laser. Pushing the button again will activate the strobe effect, and pushing it a third time will turn the laser off. There are small holes on the right side of the frame and underneath to adjust the laser with an Allen wrench for windage and elevation.
I like to adjust mine so the laser dot sits just above the front sight when the sights are aligned, and it took just a few seconds to make those adjustments. Easy TakedownDisassembly of the Shield M2.0 is quick and easy and requires no special tools other than a small screwdriver. Start by removing the magazine and clearing the chamber. Once you have ensured the chamber is empty, pull the slide to the rear and lock it open by pushing up on the slide stop. You should be able to see the yellowish sear deactivation lever, located just under the ejector, through the ejection port.
Use a screwdriver or similar device to gently push the lever down into the magazine well. Now rotate the takedown lever 45 degrees clockwise, and then pull the slide to the rear slightly to disengage the slide stop and ease the slide forward off the frame. Turn the slide over in your hand and you’ll be able to remove the dual recoil spring assembly and guide as a single unit. The barrel can now be lifted from the slide. You’ll note that disassembly did not require pulling the trigger thanks to the sear deactivation lever. You can disassemble your new Shield M2.0 without activating the sear deactivation lever, but that requires pulling the trigger to remove the slide from the frame. Either way, it’s always a good idea to keep the gun’s muzzle pointed in a safe direction while you are disassembling it.When reassembling the gun, the sear deactivation lever must be protruding into the magazine well before installing the slide and barrel assembly onto the frame. Slide the slide/barrel assembly onto the frame and pull it rearward until you can engage the slide stop.
Now rotate the takedown lever up, counterclockwise, until it is parallel with the slide. Let the slide go forward and insert an empty magazine. The magazine will return the sear deactivation lever to its normal position. Failure to do this will prevent the striker from setting and the gun will not fire. Range DuelBecause the 9mm Shields I tested have short 3.1-inch barrels, I decided to run them both at 15 yards to measure their accuracy. Both guns shot nearly identical groups, so I have listed the best group for either gun in the accuracy chart. I fired all of the groups from my DOA Tactical portable bench utilizing a for support. The results were very impressive.
My best single five-shot group was fired through the Shield M2.0 without the laser with ’ 115-grain JHPs, and it measured just 0.51 inches. ’s 150-grain Micro HST rounds produced a group just 0.86 inches wide through the laser-equipped Shield. Of course, the lighter and crisper trigger pulls were extremely helpful in producing these tight groups. My next order of business was shooting double-taps to see just how controllable they are. Remember, they weigh slightly more than 20 ounces unloaded. I wanted to determine if I could shoot them rapidly with an acceptable level of accuracy. So I fired controlled pairs at my BC-C Zone steel target at 15 yards and used a PACT electronic timer to measure my splits, or time between shots. My splits ran from a high of 0.35 seconds to a low of 0.27 seconds.
The average came in right at 0.3 seconds. Each gun’s lighter trigger and short, positive reset made it possible to score decisive hits rapidly, and I was extremely happy with both guns’ performance at the range. Both the first- and second-generation Shields possess a very comfortable 18-degree grip angle. It’s proven to be comfortable in recoil and also points naturally. I own smaller and lighter 9mm semi-autos, but I can’t shoot them as quickly or as accurately as I can a Shield.
It’s always a tradeoff between size, weight and controllability with subcompact semi-autos, but S&W has found what appears to be the perfect compromise. Approximately 200 rounds were put through each gun with no failures. I fired every bullet weight I had on hand, from 77-grain JHPs to Federal’s 150-grain HST bullets, and they all fed, fired, extracted and ejected flawlessly. All of the loads I tried had different overall lengths and bullet-nose profiles, and there wasn’t a single hiccup between the guns! The TakeawayMy test samples of the new M&P Shield M2.0 were both chambered in 9mm, though this gun will also soon be available in.40 S&W. Both of my guns possessed left-side thumb safeties, but S&W will also offer models without such safeties. The MSRP for the standard M&P9 Shield M2.0 is $479, but I am certain you’ll find it for less at your local gun shop or online.
What is really remarkable is that the laser-equipped Shield retails for just $20 more. I can think of many scenarios where a defensive handgun with an integral laser would be valuable.
However, I can’t think of a single situation where having a laser at your disposal would be a handicap. If you were on the fence as to whether or not you should upgrade your first-generation M&P Shield with an M2.0 model, the price of the integrated laser should be all the push you need!

Pleased and having funReceived my Blank Friday $299 special yesterday. Took it out today to the 50 yard range 3pm-ish, slapped on the included S&W semi-blurry-red/green dot scope, took 15 shots until I figured out it was shooting 1.5 feet. Exceptional deal on a great plinking packagecame across this promo package from another sight in early October.
Can’t beat price for gun, optic and case. Better park is that has become my family’s favorite gun to shoot so I’m picking up a second. Kids and wife line up to shoot this gun.
Have ran 2500 rounds through in a couple months and don’t recall a failure to Eject and only a couple failure to fires. Running cheap ammo.
Get more magazines. You will need them for all the fun. Optic is very good for what it is. Has held zero and has 10 brightness settings for both red and green.

Just 4 moa dot for reticle. Works very good but for package cost if you want something different keep it for a spare down the road. Not sure if you can change front rail but the stock is on mil-spec buffer so you can put something else if you want. Same for grip and trigger. Works just fine but mil spec if you want to swap.
Has been a very pleasant surprise and EVERYone who has shot came away smiling. Light weight is a bonus too. All controls work like real deal.Stock up on ammo! You will gladly eat it up.05 a round available all the time.03.04 cost per round can be found if you keep an eye out. Very happy with my new S&W M&P 15-22 Optics ready promo package. Delivery was ahead of schedule, and the rifle is a shooter!

I borrowed a 3x magnifier from another AR and after dialing it in I put 30 rds. Into a 1.5' b. Ull at 25 yds. With CCI Minimags. The S&W red/green Dot optic works very well. Went back to the range today and Zero was still perfect.I look forward to getting to an outdoor range where I can try longer distance.
Operation mimics my other ARs exactly. Will be very good for training, teaching etc. Plan to use it to introduce my wife to AR rifle shooting. Everyone except the local squirrels love it.
All for the bargain price of $335! I picked this up when the price was $387. Did a price request and got it for $$376. The less than a week later the price dropped to $329, boy was I ticked off.
But I found out from Buds about the Norton price guarantee a. Nd have filed my claim which was easy as could be. Now that's honest from a dealer, which to me is priceless. Hopefully I'll get my $47 back on the price difference. But as far as the rifle goes, one word should sum it all up, AWESOME.
Shoots like a dream, cycles perfectly, and is just like having the.223 version in your hands but way cheaper to shoot. If you practice and become a good shot with it, it makes the perfect home defense weapon without the worry of shooting completely through the house. This little 22 is a BLAST to shoot!!!!I picked up this S&W MP15-22 Sport 22LR for the rabid fox issues that are going on in my area right now.Me and my best buddy/Black Lab Seamus have had two run ins with them this year. He's vaccinated, but. I am not so this little 22 is my Vaccination.
And it worked like a charm. It's super lite, very accurate, and just a freakin blast to have at the range.not to mention its dirt cheap to run a 1000 rounds through and not feel like you just spent your car payment on ammo at the range.1100 rounds for $45 and with the rifle you get a red dot sight, carrying bag that's actually pretty nice, and 1 magazine for $400+tax out the door for a S&W MP series. You cant beat it!!!!!!! Fantastic 22LR Rifle!!For the price, I haven't found anything as good as this semi-auto rifle for plinking. It is set-up exactly like an AR, so all the controls are familiar. It has no problem cycling subsonic ammo and the 25 round magazines.
Load easily and have no problems feeding. Although it is pretty much all polymer, it is solid and, as you expect, very light. I took off the flash hider and installed my suppressor (a Sig Sauer SRD22X) and it is extremely accurate; as accurate as my bolt-action 22LR and quiet with the subsonic ammunition. So if you want a great rifle in the AR platform that is very inexpensive to shoot, I'd recommend this over any other brand. Great little.22I bought this to put my 30 year old ruger 1022 to rest in the safe.
So far no problems at all I have it topped with a Nikon 4x12 rimfire scope. Accuracy is spot on it shoots as good as i can. It operates just like an ar.
So could be used as a training tool for younger shooters without the louder and more intimidating ar kick and noise. I started doing trapping and never really liked the black plastic stocks and fake looking guns. But the more I'm in the creeks and mud and dirt I'm really appreciating something i can just wash off with a hose and not worry about any warping and scratches. All around nice rifle glad I made the purchase.
Typical S&W Quality & AccuracyPurchased S&W M&P15-22 on 5/5/17. No functional issues. First 100 rounds had no FTF or FTE.
Accuracy at 25yrds out of the box is excellent with MAGPUL sights supplied. Individual hits in a 2'dia circle could. Not be distinguished and created a 1'dia centered hole. No-tool typical AR breakdown makes cleaning easy. Removal and disassembly of bolt carrier is simple.
One oversize finger separator on pistol grip feels odd. Three normal finger grooves would be better. Aftermarket grips options may be available. Probably the best firearm I've ownedJust Got this rifle last weekend and have only shot it once, but I put 150 rounds through it.
Only one misfire that i'm sure was the ammo. Field stripping is an absolute blessing compared to several I've owned. Hey could have engineered this rifle any more simply. The more simple a mechanism is the less that can go wrong, I imagine it will last a long long time. It seems very accurate but i forgot my front sight tool so I wasn't able to tune it in as good as it could have been.
So far I am VERY pleased with the craftsmanship of Smith and Wesson's M&P 15-22. Very light and easy to hold steady is any position.
I also bought a scope for it and will sight that in this weekend so hopefully I continue to be pleased with the rifle's accuracy.Highly recommended. Best 22 ARThis is top of the line. Its the best 22 AR. I would have gave it 5 stars but the handle grip and the magazine doesn't really match the gun. I personally switched out the magazine and grip to a black finish and the gun b. Ecomes a 6 star. The new black Hogue pistol grip from Midway USA Product #645828 feels and looks way better than the original and then matching the black magazine WOW.
Now you have a good looking gun. I also put on a p-series mounts followed by a Nikon rimfire Prostaff. This gun is really light but shoots very well, don't be fooled by the weight. M&P 15-22 SportWhat a GREAT rifle. I removed the flip-up sights (very simple and took about 15 seconds) and mounted a Nikon 3-9x40 rimfire scope on Nikon P22 mounts along with a Caldwell bipod on the short, lower picatinny rail.
Ipod did need to use the sling attachment adapter that added $16 to the cost of the bipod. Shoots 2' or smaller groups at 50 yards. I have shot Norma and Federal match ammunition (500 rounds on my 1st outing) and had zero FTF issues and zero misfeeds. Rifle appears to cycle any ammo. This is a fantastic range rifle and a pleasure to shoot. Pull out 2 'captured' pegs and the rifle breaks down for easy cleaning.
M-LOK forearm works great for adding additional components. You will not be disappointed at all with this firearm.
